Challenge
Create a festive product photography set for a Manchester-based liqueur company’s social media campaign throughout the whole of December, that felt “cool and on-brand”, to make the most of seasonal online sales at the end of a turbulent year for retail.
Outcome
23 unique scenes shot throughout a 10-day product photography shoot with a range of Moonshine products, combining practical sets with a small amount of green screen work, produced remotely with constant communication with the client.
With branches in the UK and Germany, O’Donnell Moonshine is an artisan liqueur company celebrating and reviving the historic Moonshine alcohol produced in the Prohibition era of the 1920s. While this alcohol is entirely legal to modern-day standards, it’s still bottled in authentic mason jars just as bootleggers once did to avoid suspicion from the authorities…
Max, the Managing Director of O’Donnell Moonshine UK, and I initially got chatting at his market stall in Manchester. The rustic, artisan nature of his brand and product suited my own interests and aesthetic, and he happened to be looking for some new product photography!
